Refund Policy

Last updated August 25, 2026

This policy explains when the $199 service fee and $15 county filing fee may be refundable. It does not promise a refund based on the appeal outcome.

1. Before work begins

You may request cancellation before substantive preparation begins. If approved, the $199 service fee will be refunded to the original payment method. Payment processing timing is controlled by the payment provider and card issuer.

2. After preparation begins

Once records have been reviewed, documents assembled, forms prepared, or filing work has otherwise begun, the service fee is generally non-refundable because the purchased work has been performed. We will review claimed billing errors, duplicate charges, and service failures individually.

3. County filing fee

The $15 county filing fee is refundable if it has not been remitted or irreversibly committed to the county. Once remitted or committed, refund availability is determined by the county’s rules and may not be within Property Tax Appeal’s control.

4. Outcome is not a refund condition

A denial, dismissal, unchanged assessment, lower-than-expected reduction, hearing schedule, evidence ruling, or other county decision does not by itself make an order refundable. Property Tax Appeal does not guarantee results.

5. Timely-filing service promise

If you complete payment, provide all requested information, sign every required authorization, and respond to document requests before the cutoff shown in your order, but we fail to submit an otherwise complete petition by the applicable deadline solely because of our error, we will refund the service fee and any county filing fee that was not remitted.

This promise does not apply to late or incomplete customer submissions, inaccurate ownership or property information, county system outages, rejected or late discretionary petitions, missed responses, events outside our reasonable control, or the result of the appeal. Payment and signature do not mean a petition has been filed; filing is confirmed only when your status page shows a county confirmation.

6. How to request a refund

Contact support promptly with the order reference, the email used for the order, and the reason for the request. Do not include full payment card numbers. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method unless law requires otherwise.
